The UMD Symphony Orchestra celebrates its spring return with Gustav Mahler’s “Resurrection Symphony”. Mahler’s transcendent masterwork grapples with the meaning of life and death while culminating in redemption. Reminiscent of a funeral march, it took Mahler a period of seven years to compose all five of the movements of this epic.
