HEALTH & SAFETY

Current Audience Expectations

Updated September 27, 2021

The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center follows University of Maryland guidance regarding health and safety and UMD follows the guidance of Prince George’s County and the State of Maryland.

Masks

In compliance with the most recent Prince George's County mandate, masks are required to be worn indoors by all, regardless of vaccination status, across campus. This includes students, staff, faculty, performers and visitors, as well as all audience members attending in-person events at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.

Vaccinations

The University of Maryland is a community that requires vaccination for faculty, staff and students unless they ask for an exception due to medical or religious reasons. The campus at large is 98.1% fully-vaccinated.

We strongly encourage our audiences to be vaccinated.

Fall 2021 Updates

We work closely with UMD’s Health Center, and follow local guidelines from the University of Maryland and Prince George’s County to keep our patrons, staff and performers safe. As circumstances change we will continue to adapt and update our policies, keeping this page up-to-date with the latest information about what to expect during your visit.

In addition to website updates, we’ll be including information in our weekly newsletter about current attendance requirements for in-person events, and will include updated information in the pre-show email for all ticketed events.

With ultimate flexibility in mind, we’re waiving all refund and exchange fees this fall. Whether you’re switching your ticket to a digital stream or canceling altogether, simply call or email our ticket office to change your tickets with no additional costs.
