Experience projects developed during the Immersive Media Design Program’s New Works Incubator, a six-week summer development program designed to support the creation of immersive media projects by students from across the UMD campus. The Incubator enables individual student creators and teams to explore new areas of immersive media and to create works based on their own interests and initiative.
More projects from the New Works Incubator are available to view at The Clarice on Thu, Sep 5, 6-8:30PM and Fri, Sep 6, 6-10PM.
Part symphony orchestra, part jam session, part group meditation, the UMD Regenerate! Orchestra invites audiences to sit back or stroll around the lobby of the Iribe Center and enjoy this one-of-a-kind immersive collaboration between CMNS and ARHU students. This gathering of a UMD-wide orchestra puts placemaking at its core, and asks the question, “What if we rebuilt the orchestra…with human connection as the foundation?” This event is presented with support of the UMD Department of Computer Science.
Let's reimagine the clothes we don't wear! In this workshop, participants will be utilizing basic screenprinting techniques to print designs onto their clothes to revitalize and transform old clothing. Bring existing textiles or shop second hand at the local thrift store and let's get inky.
Registration required and participants are limited to 5 articles of clothing each.
This workshop is at capacity and registration is closed.
Stop by UMD’s Farmers’ Market at Tawes Plaza and print a postcard on a traditional wooden printing press with hand set metal type–courtesy of the Department of English’s BookLab.
