The immensely creative Brazilian percussionist Cyro Baptista has collaborated with some of the greatest musicians on the planet. He’s recorded and performed with legends like Trey Anastasio, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Phish, Sting, Yo-Yo Ma, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Santana and more. His own ensemble is a wild, unstoppable world beat percussive band that blends untamed percussion, tap dance, martial arts, samba, jazz, rock and funk. Working in the Brazilian Anthropofagiaartistic movement, the group mixes international instrumentation and unusual percussion inventions of Cyro’s own creation.

She has performed the musicians such as Joe Lovano, Steve Wilson, Vijay Iyer, Dave Douglas, Kenny Barron, Geri Allen, Fabian Almazan and Terri Lyne Carrington.
Guided and tempered by powerful life lessons and rooted in jazz traditions laid down by Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington and other leading ladies of past generations, GRAMMY-nominated René Marie borrows various elements of folk, R&B and even classical and country to create a captivating style uniquely her own. Several of her original pieces focus on social issues, like This Is Not A Protest Song, about homelessness, and Three Nooses Hanging, which delves into racial tension in Louisiana.
