June's showcase features:
From June 27 to July 6, 2018, musicians from all around the world will come together in the Washington metro area for the OneWorld Symphonic Festival. After four days of rehearsals, the musicians will join together to perform as a single symphonic orchestra, concluding with this Gala Concert at University of Maryland, featuring the 120 musicians and conductors from many countries, and soloist Joshua Brown performing the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.
Join us for a fun, free crafting session with Arts on a Roll! Make a mask of your favorite character from the Peter and the Wolf story and take it with you to the orchestral performance and then home for more fun. The van will be here before and after the concert.

Company Wang Ramirez: Borderline
Sébastien Ramirez and Honji Wang’s expanded choreographic language explores the tension of physical forces and social boundaries that reflect the reality of being tethered together in complex communities. Attached to cables, yet with great fluidity, five virtuosic dancers thwart gravity through hip-hop, acrobatics, levitation and stunning visual poetry.

Silencio Blanco uses silence as the stage on which to project great emotion. Silent, colorless puppets capture humanity in its purest form in this one-of-a-kind dramatic experience. In Pescador, Silencio Blanco uses their craft to allow us to view the beauty and struggle of a fisherman’s labor, exploring those individuals faced with nature’s overwhelming magnificence while submerged in solitude.
