The NOI Philharmonic Unbound: Mendelssohn, Bacewicz & Stravinsky - IN-PERSON

Artistic Director of the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society and University of Maryland School of Music faculty member Kenneth Slowik makes his NOI+F conducting debut in a special program featuring repertoire by Stravinsky, Bacewicz and Mendelssohn. Drawing upon a combination of woodwind and brass instruments, Symphonies of Wind Instruments creates serene beauty through Igor Stravinsky’s signature harmonic austerity.

Take The Reins: Chamber Orchestra Concert - IN-PERSON

The Clarice’s National Orchestral Institute + Festival returns to the stage for the first time since COVID-19 upended life as we knew it! In this special opening performance, NOI+F fellows take the reins in a program that combines the demands of chamber music playing with those of large ensemble performance. The 2021 orchestral fellows will perform without a conductor and lead each other in chamber orchestra repertoire by Mozart, Haydn, Grant Still and Korngold.

Speaking of Sisters with Transistors: Screening and Discussion

Join us for an online event featuring a screening of Sisters With Transistors, a documentary film on female pioneers of electronic music and a moderated discussion on the documentary and its subjects.

The event will be open to the public with reservations. The screening and moderated discussion will occur over Zoom.

Spring Choral Showcase

The stream of this virtual performance will be available for you to watch from home. Please do not come to the building. This choral project was individually pre-recorded and edited together for the health and safety of the artists and staff.

The program features two favorite works by major composers Johann Sebastian Bach and Johannes Brahms.
