Troilus and Cressida
The Maryland Shakespeare Players are back with a timeless tragedy about love and war. In the seventh year of the Trojan War, young couple Troilus and Cressida discover first romance and heartbreak against a background of Trojan debates over continuing the war. Meanwhile, Greek soldiers are losing morale without the leadership of their greatest warrior, Achilles, who resents the machinations of war and passes his days secluded with his lover, Patroclus. The play explores questions on life and death: how do you value a human life? Are wars worth their bloodshed?
