Violist Marcus Thompson has appeared as a viola and viola d’amore soloist with many of this country’s leading orchestras. Performance highlights include Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with Yehudi Menuhin and the Chicago Symphony, as well as performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic and the New Orchestra of Washington.

In honor of Women’s History Month, the UMD Treble Choir and guest choirs from the area join together to celebrate women’s voices in the beautiful UMD Memorial Chapel.

Composers often dedicate their works to or in the spirit of someone influential or inspirational. Featuring special dedications, this wind ensemble concert will spotlight D.M.A. vocal performance student Jennifer Piazza-Pick on Roshanne Etezady's Points of Departure. Additional dedications on the program include Fanfares for Friends by Baltimore composer Joel Puckett, J.R. by Kevin Day and Dixtuor by Claude Arrieu.
