2015-2016 TDPS Mainstage Season
TDPS Announces 2015–2016 Season New Works, Contemporary Issues and Creative Dialogue
The UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS) carries forward its groundbreaking use of art to trigger dialogue and understanding about today’s pressing societal topics. Known for boldly tackling race and gender equity, sexual violence and other important issues, TDPS announces a 2015–2016 season that follows in the same tradition.
With an extraordinary range of ideas and performances, the new season includes works by Molière and Shakespeare as well as a new play from the Big Ten Theatre Consortium by playwright Kristen Greenidge. The season culminates with New Visions/New Voices, a collaboration with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts showcasing new works from around the world. TDPS will host a series of readings at The Clarice after which the company moves to The Kennedy Center for development workshops and performances by professional actors and directors.
