I’ll Give You The Sun Staged Reading

Written by Kailee Goldberg, a fellow Theatre major, and adapted from the book with the same title, I’ll Give You The Sun is about the coming of age of twins Noah and Jude. The play is currently still in progress, and there will be a talk-back after the performance for Kailee to get feedback from the audience as she moves forward with writing.

Relaxed performances welcome all behaviors and are designed to create a relaxed sensory experience for attendees. 

Modifications include:

  • Guests are free to talk and move out of their seats during the performance.

  • Ear plugs will be available in the venue for guests who prefer a quieter noise level.

Vital Signs: Creative Arts for Black Lives

In an effort to support student voice and action related to the Black Lives Matter movement, The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, the UMD Office of Diversity and Inclusion and UMD Office of Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy in partnership with Black Terps Matter award mini-grants to artists in the UMD community who are creating projects that affirm Black life and vitality and interrogate white supremacy and anti-Blackness.

2021-22 NextLOOK Preview: ft. Rochelle Rice, Chao Tian & Joseph Webb

Established in 2014 through a partnership between The Clarice and Joe’s Movement Emporium, NextLOOK supports the development of new music, plays, dance and other experiences by performing artists based in DC, Maryland and Virginia who want to understand how their audience can become a creative partner.
