What to Expect Guide

If you have never been to the Clarice, here is what the outside of the building looks like:

You will enter through the main entrance that looks like this:

The performance will be located in the Gildenhorn Recital Hall, which is located in the Clarice’s lobby at the base of the Grand Pavilion staircase on the left, just beyond the Dekelboum Concert Hall.

Here is what the inside of Gildenhorn looks like so you can get acquainted with the space.

Ushers will be around for your assistance. They will be dressed in jeans and black Maryland Day t-shirts.

Chris will play music for about 20 minutes. You can sit in a chair or get up and move around.

The music will be loud for portions of the performance. If you need to exit the venue or put on headphones, you are welcome to do so. There will be earplugs available in a basket inside the venue. You can bring your own headphones from home too!

After Chris finishes playing, he will stay on stage and talk for about 10 minutes about his experience playing music.

If you have any questions about the event, please contact the ticket office Monday-Saturday Noon-8:00 PM or Sunday Noon-6:00PM at 301.405.ARTS (2787) or email access-theclarice@umd.edu.
