Guest Artist Chamber Music Recital

For one night only, we turn the spotlight on our guest faculty as they perform an eclectic program of chamber works featuring Jeff Thayer and Jennifer Ross, violins; Stephen Wyrczynski, viola; and Jeffrey Turner, double bass.

Forward Motion Dance Company 2017 Showcase

Forward Motion Dance Company is a student run organization, founded on contemporary dance, committed to the art of self-expression through movement. FMDC provides a place for dancers of all genres to grow, learn and create while strengthening each member's love of dance and diversity. We believe in offering all members the opportunity to choreograph and perform many different styles of dance including contemporary, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and ethnic/ cultural, so that they may explore their unique interests and talents while uniting with other members over a common passion for dance.

Lindsey Kasabian Casting Workshop

Join Lindsey Kasabian ’03 for a workshop about casting and entering the professional job market in New York City and Los Angeles. She will offer a brief lecture about her theatre experience at UMD and her decision not to pursue professional acting, but instead find alternative routes to remain the industry. She will offer advice on networking and finding job opportunities in NYC and LA, and she will break down the intricacies of navigating the television business.

Jim Henson Award for Puppetry Presentation

The Jim Henson Fund for Puppetry was established to honor the memory of its namesake, creator of the world famous Muppets. This year, four TDPS students have been selected for this prestigious award. Their puppetry work will be showcased in this performance.

DCX Late Night Arts Explosion

Late Night Arts Explosion is an event sponsored by Delta Chi Xi Honorary Dance Fraternity for all students to come together and enjoy an evening of fun. There will be dance classes, food, games, and more! Everyone is encouraged to dance and participate in the event; no dance experience needed.

Conversation with Alex Ross

New Yorker music critic Alex Ross will discuss his first book The Rest is Noise, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and a landmark cultural history of twentieth-century music. He'll also detail the development of his forthcoming book Wagnerism, a survey of Wagner's influence on the arts; and the state of music criticism in the present day. A Q&A led by musicology professor William Robin will follow the discussion.
