Watch the county's best middle school spellers compete for top honors in the Annual Prince George County Spelling Bee! Sponsored in part by The Washington Informer, the winning student will participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee held at the Gaylord Hotel at the National Harbor. This event is open to the public. Family Concert: Peter and the Wolf

In this family-friendly performance, members of the National Orchestral Institute perform Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and give their own imaginative musical interpretations of beloved children’s books.

Simone Dinnerstein and the Havana Lyceum Orchestra

In this remarkable cross-cultural concert, renowned American pianist Simone Dinnerstein and the Havana Lyceum Orchestra culminate a 3-day residency at the National Orchestral Institute + Festival.  These young orchestral stars from Cuba perform music from their US tour before joining with NOI musicians for the second half of the concert.

New Music at Maryland Concert

In a concert featuring original works by UMD student composers, young instrumentalists and singers are given the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with composers. This gives them insight into the compositional process and breathes new life into music.

Open Masterclass with Gail Williams: National Orchestral Institute + Festival

Gail Williams is an internationally recognized hornist and brass pedagogue. She was associate principal with the Chicago Symphony from 1984 until her retirement in 1998. For this evening event, she leads a masterclass with musicians from the National Orchestral Institute. Get an insider's view on the training each NOI musician receives during their time at the festival.
