Students from the UMD cello studio refine their repertoire with Andrew Shulman.
Andrew Shulman is a cello faculty member at the University of Southern California and principal cellist of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. A native of the UK, Shulman studied at the Royal Academy and Royal College of Music. He has been the principal cellist of many leading orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and the London Philharmonia. He has appeared as concerto soloist with the major European and American orchestras, and was the cellist of the Britten String Quartet. His appearance at UMD is made possible by the Barbara K. Steppel Memorial Cello Fellowship.
