Spring Chamber Jazz

Experience the soulful, syncopated sounds of jazz in these two lively concerts featuring classic tunes performed by the four jazz combos coached by Gerry Kunkel, Tom Baldwin, Mike Quinlivan and Mike Kuhl. Attend both nights—each performance features a different program. Concert repertoire coming soon.

Dvořák and Copland: UMD Wind Orchestra and UMD Wind Ensemble

The culmination of the School of Music’s Wind Conducting Workshop, this concert will feature guest conductor H. Robert Reynolds of the Thornton Wind Ensemble and Director of Bands Emeritus at the University of Michigan. Also featuring School of Music faculty conductors Michael Votta, Jr., and Andrea Brown, the program will include Darius Milhaud’s La Création du Monde, Antonín Dvořák’s Serenade in D minor, Op. 44, Morten Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium and Aaron Copland’s Emblems.

In celebration of the 250th birthday of Beethoven, Associate Professor Eric Kutz and guest artists Amir Eldan, Miko Kominami and Misha Namirovsky perform the composer’s complete works for cello and piano in this special event.

University and Community Band

Representing a variety of majors across campus, the University Band is joined by the Maryland Community Band for a concert of traditional and contemporary wind band music in a performance that can be enjoyed by all ages. Concert repertoire coming soon.
