NextNOW Fest: Photon Motion, a moving image projection by artist Alyson Denny
ABOUT THE EVENT
Photon Motion is an ongoing series of abstract photographic video loops. To create these moving images, Alyson Denny experiments with ways to bend light and mix its colors, and then mines the resulting photonic material for captivating and beguiling imagery. These works are made to spark each person's imagination in a different way. Whether you see rainbow-infused abstract paintings, or outer-space adventures, or mysterious creatures dancing on the wall, come together to discover where these moving abstractions take you.

NextNOW Fest: A Container of Breath by Justin Randolph Thompson in collaboration with Bradly Dever Treadaway and Jason Thompson
ABOUT THE EVENT
A Container of Breath is a film projection and participatory performance dedicated to geoscientist, jazz musician, Tuskegee Airman and advocate for Black Studies, Randolph Bromery (1926-2003). The piece engages fleeting forms of commemoration and legacy maintenance. An experimental documentary film with a live sound score is the backdrop for oversized amplified cornhole boards which transform the space into one of recreational gathering.
NextNOW Fest: Video in The Atrium (ViTA): Television Delivers People by Richard Serra with Carlota Schoolman
ABOUT THE EVENT
Television Delivers People, produced with Carlota Schoolman, focuses on the political import of broadcasting as corporate monopoly and imperialism of the air. The content is presented ironically, for the message criticizes its medium while remaining within it. Muzak is playing while sentences that Serra has excerpted from television conferences roll down a blue background in white lettering.
