Join the UMD Art Gallery for an exhibition preview and reception for their exhibits Faculty Exhibition 2024 and Up Close: Hana Ward.
Up Close: Hana Ward offers an intimate look at the artist's practice across three varied mediums—painting, ceramics, and printmaking. Despite its modest scale, the exhibition delves deeply into themes of personal, spiritual, and environmental rejuvenation.
Max Waldman photographed some of the greatest theatre and dance artists during the 1960s and 1970s in New York City. Instead of capturing the artists onstage, however, he invited them to his studio where he often created new arrangements, which proved intimate & profound. This exhibition runs from August 2024 through July 2025.
Curated by Drew Barker, Performing Arts Librarian. Photographs from the Special Collections in Performing Arts (SCPA).
