Experience all of the Six Solo Sonatas for Violin (1923) by Eugène Ysaÿe performed by graduate and undergraduate students as part of a total-immersion, semester learning project. Students will share the story of their direct lineage to the Belgian master and explain how he entirely revolutionized the craft and the art. Then they will play, tag-team style, this daring magnum opus—the most challenging in the genre since J.S. Bach’s model 200 years earlier.

Why does Hamlet continue to speak to generation after generation? In many ways, he is the first truly modern literary character. He is enmeshed in inner conflicts, and knows he is his own worst problem. Hamlet's problem, and ours, is essentially psychological. This introduction to Hamlet will briefly survey the history of the play, and then zero in on Hamlet's problem, and ours.

Vân Ánh Võ – the national champion of Vietnamese traditional music, Emmy Award composer, vocalist and educator – and her VA’V Ensemble will showcase Vietnam's 4000-year-old cultural heritage as well as other cultures of the world with a unique combination of Vietnamese, Turkish and Japanese traditional instruments. Under her guidance, the audience will join Vanessa and her ensemble in playing some traditional instruments to create their own music.
CAFE Youth Org presents its annual Holiday Event Concert which will feature the versatile orchestration of steelpan music, performed by a talented group of CAFE students. The young CAFE artistes will showcase music of various genres: classical, traditional and cultural music of the Caribbean and Latin American.
