UPDATE: This event has been cancelled, click here for more information.

Blurring the boundaries between the human and animal experience, The Cunning Little Vixen follows the story of a sharp, young, female fox (a vixen) and the gamekeeper who tries to control her. Inspired by a comic strip, this Czech opera by Leoš Janáček explores the ways in which human beings interact with the natural world while hinting at the underlying forces that govern us all.

Noises Off

What else could go wrong? Tensions run high as Lloyd Dallas, the director of this play’s play-within-a-play, struggles to prepare his accident-prone cast for the opening of British bedroom comedy Nothing On. Missed cues, jealous lovers, a lost contact lens and a troublesome plate of sardines all conspire to ruin the performance. Michael Frayn’s award-winning farce details the hilarity that ensues behind the scenes of a theatrical production as characters attempt to untangle the chaos and salvage the play.

New Work Reading: Four Freedoms

A new chamber opera by Joseph C. Phillips, Jr., Four Freedoms is inspired by President Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1941 "Four Freedoms Speech." While this speech was delivered almost 80 years ago, its four philosophical pillars — freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from fear and freedom from want — still resonate today.
