Numi Yoga + YogiTerps - December 10, 2019

Come celebrate the end of the UMD semester with us - whether you are a campus connected friend or not! Join a Numi Yoga instructor for a 60-minute yoga flow practice in the upstairs venue of Milkboy Arthouse. Bring a friend and a mat (if you don't have one, we'll have some extras), we’ll bring the GLOW. Doors open at 5pm. Class is free, but save your spot online!

Opera Double Bill: Signor Deluso & Down in the Valley

OperaTerps presents a double bill of Pasatieri's Signor Deluso and Kurt Weill's Down in the Valley. As the School of Music's first student-run opera company, OperaTerps provides undergraduate musicians the opportunity to participate in a major musical undertaking while enriching cultural life on campus and in the College Park community.

Milk x Honey Open Mic

Milk x Honey Open Mic is hosted by UMD's Terpoets bringing together a diversity of creators to share in a safe community of all media and curate a unique artistic experience by showcasing the exceptional talent in the College Park area.

This performance is open to guests of all ages! Because MilkBoy ArtHouse is a music venue, restaurant, and bar, ID checks will take place as you enter the venue. Guests age 21+ will be given a wristband that will allow them to purchase alcohol during the event.

Arts & Humanities Dean's Lecture Series featuring Cecile Richards

As part of UMD’s Civic Maryland, a campus-wide initiative encouraging students to engage with issues of public concern, Cecile Richards, renowned activist and progressive leader, will talk about her mission to inspire people to political action. Richards recently helped launch Supermajority, a group working to train and mobilize women to become organizers, activists and leaders in advance of the 2020 elections. She previously worked for more than a decade as the president of Planned Parenthood.

Henson Awards Showcase

The talented student recipients of the Jim Henson Fund for Puppetry will perform/present their funded projects. Grantees and their project descriptions will be announced soon.

The School of Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies hosts an annual competition and recipients are awarded funds to create a puppet project or performance. The Jim Henson Fund for Puppetry was established by Jane Henson '55 to honor the memory of Jim Henson '60, creator of the world famous Muppets.
