The Gamer Symphony Orchestra Small Ensemble Concert is an opportunity for individual members and small groups to showcase their talents, as well as for the orchestra to perform pieces they otherwise could not as a full ensemble. Join them on a foray into the world of video game music!
If you can't attend in person, this concert will be streamed on our Twitch channel.
In this class with Jason A. Rodriguez you will discover one of three styles of vogue called New Way Vogue.
Stretch and precision are key to this style. We will move into an array of exercises to practice elements of vogue. Arms controls shows off your control of creating lines, shapes, illusions and face framing movements to the beat of the music. We will practice other elements such as poses, floor work, cat walks and duck walks. You seal it all with a dip that is a signature movement for voguing!
The Howard County Youth Orchestra comes together with University Chorale and the UMD Chamber singers for a performance of Beethoven's beautiful and timeless Mass in C. This concert will also feature the Howard County Gifted & Talented Chorus, and will close with a performance of the inspiring You'll Never Walk Alone by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.
To be announced.

We cannot maintain our democratic republic without a populace capable of critical thinking and civilized discourse. Our debates aim to address this problem. Our focus is on teaching students – and all who attend – how to think, not what to think. Join us to explore whether capital gains tax will create a fairer economy and decide for yourself. This debate is part of the Fact-Based Discourse Initiative.
Speakers:
Assistant Professor and Washington National Opera Principal Bassoon Joseph Grimmer presents a recital. Repertoire to be announced closer to the performance.
