District5, UMD School of Music's Gradute Fellowship Woodwind Quintet, will be performing at Busboys & Poets Hyattsville on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Their performance, Throw Caution to the Wind, features some of the most colorful and virtuosic work for wind quintet, showing what it's like to simply let loose and perform.

David Rousseve/REALITY wlil be presenting the world premiere performances of Stardust here on January 31 and February 1. Choreographed, written and directed by David Rousseve, Stardust follows a gay African American teen as he navigates a difficult adolescence. Never seen onstage, he is present only by the unanswered, emotion-laden text messages he sends to a random number.
Stardust's sound score juxtaposes the intimate romanticism of Nat King Cole standards with the rough-edged, hip-hop inflected original music of d. Sabela Grimes. Because they have such great taste in music, we've asked David, REALITY and their collaborators to put together a playlist of their current musical obsessions. (You're welcome!)
Contemporary chamber music rockstars eighth blackbird performed here at the Center in March and were even kind enough to compile a playlist of some of their favorite music!

Sidney Chen is a member of Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble, and will perform in her newest music-theatre work On Behalf of Nature here at the Center on May 4. He is a founding member of The M6, a vocal sextet dedicated to Monk's music, and also works as the Artistic Administrator for Kronos Quartet.
