Masterclass with Benjamin Pasternack, piano

Benjamin Pasternack will conduct a piano masterclass with select students from the UMD School of Music. In this informal event that is open to the public, Pasternack will give students feedback on works by Beethoven, Granados and Liszt.

February 15, 2013 College Park, MD – PostClassical Ensemble (PCE) celebrates the distinctive and influential “American style” of Dvořák with a series of performances at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center as part of their Dvořák and America Festival.

University Chorale & UMD Chamber Singers: Spring Showcase

This concert features music by the “Three B’s” but not the usual Bach-Beethoven-Brahms combination. Instead, hear works by Bach, Bernstein and Badings.

The choirs also perform the premiere of Correspondences by Bryan Vanek and an encore performance of Figure humaine by Francis Poulenc.

SIREN: How Suite It Is

On their first recital of the spring semester, critically acclaimed Graduate Fellowship Woodwind Quintet SIREN performs a recital of suites by these renowned 20th century composers: Ravel, Tomasi, Valjean and d’Rivera.

February 12, 2012 – College Park, MD – The School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies presents Sarah Ruhl’s Dead Man's Cell Phone, March 1-9, in the Clarice Smith Center’s Kay Theatre. Directed by KJ Sanchez, this lively comedy follows the romance between a young woman and a dead man carried out via his still-active cell phone.
