UMD’s School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies features one of the finest theatrical design programs in the world.

We’ve transformed the Dance Theatre lobby area in the Grand Pavilion into a museum-quality display of costume, scenic and lighting designs from our student designers.

Nichole Canuso Dance: The Garden

A site-specific, audience-participation dance experience performed for a maximum of four audience members at a time, The Garden has been crafted specifically for the space at The Clarice.

Individualized sound scores accompany participants through the terrain of the performance for a sprawling exploration of possibilities on the smallest of scales.

World Folk Music Association: Remembering Dick Cerri

For over 50 years, Dick Cerri entertained Washington, DC area folk music audiences with his radio program, Music Americana. In 1982, Dick, along with Tom Paxton, founded the World Folk Music Association to further unite folk music fans and artists. He was its guiding force for 29 years. Sadly Dick passed away on October 3, 2013.
