Bach Cantata Series: UMD Choral Activities

ABOUT THE EVENT

J.S. Bach, known as the great master, wrote more than 200 cantatas, and UMD Choral Activities aims to sing them all in this series of short performances led by conductors in the graduate program. This performance will feature a cantata and soloists announced closer to the performance.

The UMD Symphony Orchestra and UMD Wind Orchestra combine for this concert led by members of the graduate conducting studios. Professional guest conductors often appear by invitation and hold workshops with UMD School of Music students in preparation for this concert.

BSO, UMD help Afghan refugees reclaim their voices with music: 'It is cathartic' (Baltimore Sun)

Inside My Head: The Musical

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Maryland is excited to present Inside My Head, an autobiographical musical about one person’s journey with bipolar, on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025, at the University of Maryland’s Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.

School of Music Fellowship Ensemble: Terrapin Brass

ABOUT THE EVENT

Featuring timeless standards in the repertoire, the Fall 2024 Terrapin Brass recital, "Just the Classics," will be an exciting dive into the world of brass quintet music for new and experienced listeners alike. Terrapin Brass performs works by Malcolm Arnold, Morley Calvert, Anthony DiLorenzo as well as some traditional American and Chinese melodies.

Prince George's Philharmonic...A Grand Close!

ABOUT THE EVENT

Prince George’s Philharmonic concludes its 59th season on Saturday, May 17th. The program opens with the Double Concerto of Brahms featuring Irina Muresanu, violin and Eric Kutz, cello, and concludes with the Second Symphony of Serge Rachmaninoff. Join us for this Grand Close to the season.
