The School of Music’s undergraduate directed a cappella ensembles, Voix de Chanson and FreundeMusik, present their annual winter concert . Taking place in the beautifully acoustic UMD Memorial Chapel, it is sure to be a wonder night of music making. 

ABOUT THE ENSEMBLES

Voix De Chanson was formed in 2003 for the purpose of producing high-level vocal music in a more personal and collaborative setting. Voix is an ensemble of undergraduate sopranos and altos studying everything from music to computer science. Since its inception, the group has evolved into a unique and versatile ensemble that performs a wide variety of a cappella treble choral music. Voix regularly performs at campus events and School of Music concerts. 

FreundeMusik is an undergraduate-led ensemble of tenors and basses from a variety of musical backgrounds. The group debuted at the 2008 Festival of Lessons and Carols and has since performed at many events over the years, including those for previous UMD presidents. Their repertoire spans a wide range from Renaissance polyphony to barbershop.
