NextLOOK ft. Alina Collins Maldonado: No Salgas Con El Pelo Mojado

Through a series of actual interviews centering the relationship between Latinx mothers and their daughters, Alina Collins Maldonado offers us a bilingual, intimate portrayal of the Latinx experience as seen through its matriarchs. As she transforms into several interviewees, this theater piece explores the unanswered questions of cultural expectations passed down through generations.

NextLOOK ft. Lineage Percussion: Shadows of Lakeland

The duty of artists is to reflect and create content that is synonymous with the current world, exposing the downfalls and triumphs of the human spirit. Lineage Percussion is joining forces with renowned composer Carlos Simon to present the world premiere of Shadows of Lakeland. Lakeland, located in College Park, Maryland, is a historical Black community that has proven resilient when distracted by trials and tribulations. Experience the voices of Lakeland as Lineage Percussion explores their vibrant history and resolve in times of uncertainty.

Join School of Music faculty and guest artists for a virtual recital in celebration of Beethoven's 250th birthday! Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827) remains one of the most performed and beloved composers in the history of Western classical music. He was baptised on December 17, but the exact day of his birth has been forgotten. Could it have been December 15? No one knows for sure.
