Dedicated to musical excellence with a distinctly Australian character, the Australian String Quartet (ASQ) has created unforgettable performances for audiences across the globe for more than 30 years, all with the goal of creating chemistry and amplifying intimacy through experiences that connect people. Their distinctive sound is enhanced by a matched set of 18th century Guadagnini instruments, handcrafted between 1743 and 1784 in Turin and Piacenza, Italy.

ASQ, which includes two UMD School of Music alumni, will perform Schubert’s Death and the Maiden alongside an ensemble of students from the School of Music’s chamber program, works by Australian composers, and will also premiere this year's Alumni Music Commission by Alexandra T. Bryant at NextNOWFest.
