Pianist Chick Corea. Vocalist Bobby McFerrin. A performance by either of these stellar artists would be cause for celebration, but together onstage they create a truly momentous musical occasion.

Now, more than 20 years after their first collaboration, these two extraordinary musicians revisit their legendary chemistry in a concert at the Clarice Smith Center. In past performances together, their unexpected riffs and pure joy in creation have made for an unparalleled live music experience — not only for the audience, but for themselves.

“Chick has this amazing harmonic capacity,” McFerrin says. “Even though he might play a piece that we’ve played before, it’s always different because you never know what we’re going to find. We’re like musical explorers.” Corea says, “When we’re onstage and I’m playing and the music is happening — and people are receiving it and it’s lifting them up — it’s indescribable how wonderful that is and how fulfilling that is to me.”
