You may be wondering why a story booth has appeared in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center’s lobby, outside the Kay Theater. We learn something new almost every day about why this project is important to us but our intention in doing it was to collect narratives from the people that matter to us, people like you, about the performing arts.

UPDATE (Wednesday, November 21, 2012 . 2:38PM): The ticket office will close today, November 21, 2012, at 5PM.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center will be closed from Thursday, November 22 through Sunday, November 25, 2012, including both our ticket office and administrative office. Tickets may still be purchased online during this time.

The UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS) is pleased to announce that visiting professor Jared Mezzocchi has been honored with the Princess Grace Award this fall for his work in the emerging field of on-stage projection design. Awarded by the International Princess Grace Foundation, Mezzocchi offered the Foundation their first real connection with projection design, a huge step for the art form.

The UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS) is proud to announce that professor Brian MacDevitt has been honored with the prestigious 2012 Henry Hewes Design Award for his lighting design in Death of a Salesman on Broadway. MacDevitt has won this honor twice before for his lighting of the Tom Stoppard plays The Invention of Love and later for The Coast of Utopia.

After being closed for two days due to Hurricane Sandy, we will reopen on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, resuming our normal business hours.

Our ticket office will be open from 11AM to 9PM.
