Tawes Hall is located on the University of Maryland campus, between Knight Hall and the Art-Sociology Building.
Walking from The Clarice
Tawes Hall is one half mile from The Clarice.
- Walk south on Valley Drive.
- At the circle, turn left onto Fieldhouse Drive.
- Turn right at the sidewalk by Lot Z. The tennis courts will be on your left side.
- Cross Union Drive and continue on the pathway. You will pass Knight Hall on your right side.
- Continue on the pathway. The pathway will bear left to wrap around the building and you will arrive at a courtyard, which is in front of the main entrance to Tawes Hall.

Driving from The Clarice
After reaching The Clarice, stay on Valley Drive for approximately 1½ blocks. After the second stop sign, Tawes will be on your left towards the end of Lot 1b and Lot Z parking just before the Campus Drive intersection.

Parking
Located behind Tawes Hall are parking lots 1b, Z, JJ2 and JJ3. While you may park in the Stadium Drive Garage (which is closest to The Clarice), we recommend that you park in one of the following lots for proximity:
Free parking in Lot JJ2 / Lot JJ3
- When: After 4PM Mondays – Fridays; all day Saturdays and Sundays. Excluding days with home football games and some other select events.
- Where: Lot JJ2 and Lot JJ3, a section of the large surface lot just beyond the Center. Do not park in Lot JJ1 as it is restricted parking.
- Cost: Free
Free parking in Lot Z
- When: After 4PM Mondays – Fridays; all day Saturdays and Sundays. Excluding days with home football games and some other select events.
- Where: Lot Z, a section of the large surface lot just beyond the Center.
- Cost: Free
Free parking in Lot 1B / LOT 1D
- When: After 4PM Mondays – Fridays; all day Saturdays and Sundays. Excluding days with home football games and some other select events.
- Where: Lot 1b and 1d, a section of the large surface lot just beyond the Center.
- Cost: Free
