The Abraxas Quartet, formed by School of Music students Paul Bagley, Zach Matteson, Nick Montopoli and Alex Ellsworth, performs George Crumb’s Black Angels.
Inspired by the Vietnam War, Black Angels portrays the voyage of the soul through unusual sounds: electric string quartet, crystal glasses, gongs, maracas, whistling, chanting and shouting.
