The Artist Partners Program at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center is building the future of the arts by training, mentoring and presenting the next generation of artists and creative innovators. Artist Partner Programs provide performance and education opportunities for UMD students from across campus and for local community members of all ages. However, the work of the Artist Partner Programs would not be complete without our partners. On Monday, November 5, 2018 we celebrated those partners with our 1st Annual Arts Citizenship Celebration. During the celebration several individuals and organizations were recognized who have exemplified how the arts can power community as we continue to strive for positive change and create a sense of unity among all people.

This was a gathering to celebrate the arts and to celebrate citizenship. It was a celebration of leadership at its best. Our Arts Citizens model for us the importance of bringing our voices forward not just to be heard, but to move conversations forward. We are grateful for their commitment to making the arts a part of more conversations, and to making our communities stronger.
