For over 50 years, Dick Cerri entertained Washington, DC area folk music audiences with his radio program, Music Americana. In 1982, Dick, along with Tom Paxton, founded the World Folk Music Association to further unite folk music fans and artists. He was its guiding force for 29 years. Sadly Dick passed away on October 3, 2013.

Through a variety of WFMA events and his radio show, Dick introduced many Washington area fans to the music of his favorite artists, to the benefit of fans and performers alike. There are countless performers who owe their success in the Washington, DC area and beyond to Dick, and countless fans who are grateful to Dick for introducing them to new and exciting folk artists.

This concert will celebrate Dick Cerri’s life with the music that he loved, by many of his favorite performers, including Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey (of Peter, Paul & Mary), Tom Paxton, Christine Lavin, Schooner Fare, Modern Man, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Anne Hills, Mack Bailey, Carolyn Hester, Side by Side and The Squid Jiggers. And there are sure to be some surprises!
