NextNOW Fest: Opening Night Party!

NextNOW Fest 2022 kicks off the festival week with an opening party at The Hall CP, a restaurant and event venue located off-campus in the University of Maryland’s Discovery District. The party will feature a stage of student musicians and bands from Terrapin Record Label, along with local and alumni vendors, a suminagashi-style paper marbling activity by Pyramid Atlantic Art Center and Illegal Art’s interactive Connect the Dots installation.

Puccini Meets Totoro - An Introduction to Orchestra: University Orchestra

The University of Maryland University Orchestra takes the stage for its final performance of the year, bringing audiences a taste of orchestral masterworks, opera and movie scoring. From Puccini's classic La bohéme to the score of the beloved Hayao Miyazaki film, My Neighbor Totoro, this performance has something for everyone!

Representing a variety of majors across campus, the University Band is joined by the Maryland Community Band for a concert of traditional and contemporary wind band music in a performance perfect for all ages. Repertoire will be announced closer to the concert.
