Shakespeare's Music: Not of an Age but for All Time

National Festival Orchestra: Orchestra Unbound

Strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion - all the sections of the orchestra unbound and heard in works that showcase their color and virtuosity.

UpSpring Studio: Sentimental Swing (OFF-SITE)

Remember what it was like to swing as a child? Come re-discover those childhood memories with a SWING workshop at Joe's Movement Emporium. With the guidance of professional aerialists (Alana Cole-Faber, Mara Neimanis, and Kirsty Little), you can take a swing on a real trapeze and tell us what the word "swing" means to you. All ages and abilities are welcome, and no prior experience is required. This is a free, drop-in workshop, and there is no need to register.

Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra: Music and Film at Maryland

Join the UMD School of Music for its third "Music and Film" screening. This performance features UMD School of Music chamber music groups performing new music for vintage silent films and two short films performed by guest ensemble Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra.

OperaTerps: The Impresario and Moore's Gallantry

OperaTerps explores overconfidence and uncertainty by juxtaposing Mozart’s comic singspiel The Impresario with Douglas Moore’s parody soap opera Gallantry. Will the self-absorbed Madame Silberklang win her audition? Will the love-struck Dr. Gregg get his way with Nurse Lola? Find out as OperaTerps exposes the character flaws brought upon by ambition and desire.

UMD Wind Ensemble: Charles Ives Collection

UMWE premieres Route Potomac - a work by UMD alumnus Jonathan Graybill – and performs a collection of works by the great American composer Charles Ives.
