Narcy

An educator, rapper and multimedia artist, Narcy is one of the most prominent voices in Canadian hip-hop to address the complexities of being young, Arab and Muslim in a post-9/11 world. His lyrics merge news, history and political analysis with the evolving sounds and concepts coming out of the hip-hop community in the U.S. and beyond.

Silent Disc-Glo

It’s a dance party, but with a twist! Armed with a set of wireless headphones, listen to one of two live DJs, both playing totally different musical styles. This silent dance party is surreal, bizarre and outrageously fun! Presented in partnership with UMD’s Student Entertainment Events (SEE).

Lido Pimienta

Known as “Colombian darling” and “Soundsister,” Lido Pimienta jumps back and forth from electronic beats, analog synths and Afro-Colombian rhythms to out-of-this-world chanting. The release of her first album Color LP opened the gate for several collaborations with artists in Canada and around the world, making her one of the most prolific songwriter, lyricist and an improv virtuoso of her generation.
