Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist and 2017 MacArthur Fellow Viet Thanh Nguyen will present “Refugees, Immigrants, Americans: Changing Our Stories,” followed by an audience Q&A. America is a story, one in which immigrants and refugees have different roles and challenges. For immigrants and refugees, becoming American must also mean changing the American story.
Nguyen’s book “The Refugees” is Maryland’s 2018-19 First Year Book and will be available to students free of charge. A reception and book signing will follow the lecture.
