ABOUT THE EVENT
Each year, many of the United States’ most outstanding young instrumental musicians converge at The Clarice for weeks of rehearsals, training, seminars and performances to hone their creative edge at the National Orchestral Institute + Festival (NOI+F). Chosen through a rigorous, cross-country audition process, the artists participating in the NOI+F offer awe-inspiring renditions of adventuresome repertoire under the leadership of Music Director Marin Alsop. In 2019, conductor David Alan Miller and the NOI+F Philharmonic received a Grammy nomination in the Best Orchestral Performance category, cementing this ever-changing ensemble as among the best in the world. Listen to some of the stand-out performers and faculty members of seasons past—including Julian Maddox, Patrick Lin and Jennifer Ross on violin; Lauren Spaulding and Sebastian Stefanovic on viola; Maki Kubota on cello; Braizahn Jones on bass; Bethany Slater on oboe and Juan Esteban Martinez on clarinet—as the Gildenhorn Recital Hall welcomes a selection of NOI+F All-Stars for an evening of classical greatness.
