Music for Food is a musician-led initiative that started in Boston and has since spread across the US.  Its goal is to create awareness about hunger insecurity in America and to partner with audiences to raise money through donation-based concerts. The artists who perform receive no fee and the concert tickets are free with a kind request for any donation, 100% of which is then donated to a local food pantry or food bank.

We’ve selected Elizabeth House of Laurel to be the recipient of donations given at this concert. They provide hot meals for local residents each evening as well as give bags of groceries weekly.

Music for Food's first concert will include Schumann’s first quartet in A minor op 41 and Mendelssohn Viola Quintet in B flat major, featuring violist and MFF founder Kim Kashkashian.
