The Maryland Opera Studio's production of Kurt Weill's Zaubernacht and Mahagonny Songspiel explores the perils of over-indulgence and addiction. Join us for a lively discussion as we examine our dependence on technology and the ways in which media over-saturates our daily lives. How does this affect the way we experience life, build relationships, process grief, and ultimately, avoid the reality of our emotions?

Maestro Craig Kier and Stage Director David Lefkowich are joined by Weill Scholar Stephen Hinton and UMD Professor Susan Moeller, who conducts studies of global media coverage of international news, among numerous other topics, in her role as the director of the UMD International Center for Media and the Public Agenda.

This event is part of the Kurt Weill Festival funded in part by the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music, Inc., New York NY.
