Shostakovich's misunderstood and difficult Symphony No. 6 is paired with Berlioz's picturesque song cycle Les nuits d'été.  UMRO is joined by UMD voice professor, soprano Carmen Balthrop.  UMRO will also perform Samuel Adler's Summer Stock in celebration of the composer's 90th birthday.

The University of Maryland Repertoire Orchestra is a unique all-campus orchestra that is open to music majors, non-music majors and members of the University of Maryland community.
