Program Notes:

In this interactive evening of contemporary dance focused on loving, longing and loss, audience members are given a choice: experience the pure movement in silence, or don headphones and layer on a rich soundscape. With cross-cultural conversation and community action at its heart, Dearest Home showcases movement, in its most vulnerable and intimate state, through a series of solo and duet performances. Grounded in classical arts and heavily influenced by hip-hop culture, choreographer/company leader/ MacArthur Genius award-winner Kyle Abraham’s mission is to create evocative, interdisciplinary performances. He is back at The Clarice after his celebrated 2014 performance of When Wolves Came In.

“Kyle Abraham has got the juice, manifested in rolling shoulders and hips and a sense of constant connection.” –The Chicago Tribune

The presentation of Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In.Motion was made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Stay after the show for Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In.Motion Post-Performance Creative Conversation.
