Renowned bassist Michael Cameron performs works by Domenico Gabrieli, Andrew Earle Simpson, Bohuslav Martinu, Ellen Taaffee Zwilich, Jean Sibelius and Stacy Garrop. 

Michael Cameron has premiered dozens of works for bass, among them works by Sofia Gubaidulina, Kaija Saariaho, Gyorgy Kurtag, Luciano Berio, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Gavin Bryars, and others. Cameron has appeared in over 20 recordings, performed in tours with the Ensemble Modern and has appeared in concert with the New York New Music Ensemble and the Pacifica Quartet, among many others. He has given dozens of master classes at major music schools, International Society of Bassists conventions, Midwest Young Artists and the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. Cameron is currently Professor of Double Bass and chair of the string department at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
