BeyondMeasureLLC presents Can You SEE Me? The Second Annual Women, Leadership & Race Summit. This is a platform designed to create dialogue that strengthens race relations, promotes diversity and educates about the importance of inclusion. This year, the brilliant Dr. Kumea Shorter-Gooden provides education about racism and its impact on women of color. Shorter-Gooden was University of Maryland's First Chief Diversity Officer, and she is the co-author of "Shifting: The Double Lives of Black Women in America."
Ms. Dana J. Loatman will conduct a plenary session with a diverse group of young female leaders, "Millennial Women Who Lead." This session will explore how millennial women are leading today. Loatman is among the DMV's Top 30 Under 30 leaders, a Lead the Way Fellow , and the current Manager of Development and Corporate Relations at My Brother's Keeper Alliance.
Attendees will walk away with a deeper understanding and awareness surrounding race relations, how women internalize racism, and how racism relates to how women see themselves.
Lunch is included in the ticket price.
