Fusing music from various genres can be a tricky feat that can result in guff.
Join us in a lively conversation with Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow Miguel Zenón of SFJAZZ Collective on his recently released jazz album, Alma Adentro: The Puerto Rican Songbook.
Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential saxophonists of his generation, he has also developed a unique voice as a composer and as a conceptualist, concentrating his efforts on perfecting a fine mix between Latin American music and straight ahead jazz. Hear from Miguel about his inspiration and process, and listen to him blow that horn!
Presented in partnership with Multicultural Student Involvement & Community Advocacy Office and the Latino Honors Society.
