Written for the 1st Day of Pentecost, BWV 34 is lavishly scored for vocal trio, chorus, and an orchestra including trumpet, timpani, flute, oboe, violin, viola, and continuo. BWV 34 focuses on scripture about God’s blessings to his children through colorfully dramatic orchestration.
