Terps are fearless. So is Art. Join us on The Clarice Lawn across from Riggs Alumni Center. (Hint: Look for dancers in the air at Legacy Plaza between Lot 1 and the Stadium!)

Show your Terp pride and join our first-ever ferocious ArtsTailgate and dominate the opponents with your skill, creativity and artistic daring. Demonstrate your support for the home team by making instruments, learning TerpTunes and joining the TerpParade to the stadium. Great for football fans and art lovers of all ages.

All NextNOW Arts Tailgate activities and frolic begin three hours before game time.

Arts on a Roll

Presented by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, the Arts on a Roll van will give you a chance to show your team spirit by making Terp-themed crafts to wear to the game.

BOMBSHELL BOOM BOOM (!)

Stemming from the marching band movement, BOMBSHELL BOOM BOOM (!) is a do-it-yourself band creating instruments from anything and inviting everyone to participate. Use your handmade instruments in the pre-game parade to the stadium with the Mighty Sound of Maryland Marching Band. We will provide materials to create your instrument, fun to materialize your creativity and the boom boom to be the bomb!

Combat Paper NJ

Both veterans and community members are invited to participate in papermaking workshops where uniforms worn in service will be transformed into handmade paper. The workshops will be an opportunity to engage in the process, share experiences and create works of art.

The Fruits Daredevil Aerial Dance (Australia)

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s The Fruits. A Melbourne-based performance art troupe that fuses theatre, dance and circus creates work on 16-foot-high flexible poles, mesmerizing audiences below.

Mighty Sound of Maryland: Interactive History

Consistently voted the best campus library, the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library in partnership with the University of Maryland Archives presents the history of the Mighty Sound of Maryland Marching Band. While listening to the band, get your picture taken in some of the hats the members of the Mighty Sound of Maryland have worn over the years, and if you’re an alum, share your story about being part of the band.
