A recital by prize-winning pianist Sara Daneshpour, acclaimed as "one of the most highly gifted younger American pianists." She will offer music by Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Ravel and Prokofiev.

Do Good Challenge Finals

The Do Good Challenge is a year-long effort that engages more than a thousand students across campus. Capped by an eight-week competition to Do Good and inspire social innovation, the challenge awards over $20,000 in prize money for the student-led organizations with the biggest social impact.

Matthew Halls Residency: Bach Cantata

Oregon Bach Festival Artistic Director Matthew Halls leads J.S. Bach's intimate cantata 204 from the keyboard as part of his weeklong UMD School of Music residency. Featuring UMD Choral Activities alumna Amy Broadbent as soprano soloist, this underperformed secular cantata brings to life contemplative Christian Friedrich Hunold texts about inner contentment and serenity through varied instrumental combinations with voice.

Live Music Yoga

Experience the magic of live music while you practice yoga!

The sounds of the Anacostia String Quartet will provide a soothing accompaniment during this free hour-long Live Music Yoga flow class held in the airy grand pavilion of The Clarice.

All experience levels are welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat if possible; a limited number will be provided.

Tommaso Lonquich, clarinet

In this "homecoming" concert, School of Music alumnus Tommaso Lonquich performs masterworks of the clarinet chamber music repertoire with doctoral cello candidate Kacy Clopton, clarinet professor Robert DiLutis and guest pianist Ralitza Patcheva.

My First Swan Lake

Join us for a family-friendly performance of My First Swan Lake, perfect for children ages 3-12. The performance will be one hour long and include a meet and greet with our dancers and a ballet craft.

2017 Prince George's County Spelling Bee

Watch the county's best middle school spellers compete for top honors in the Annual Prince George County Spelling Bee! Sponsored in part by The Washington Informer, the winning student will participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee held at the Gaylord Hotel at the National Harbor. This event is open to the public. Family Concert: Peter and the Wolf

In this family-friendly performance, members of the National Orchestral Institute perform Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and give their own imaginative musical interpretations of beloved children’s books.

Simone Dinnerstein and the Havana Lyceum Orchestra

In this remarkable cross-cultural concert, renowned American pianist Simone Dinnerstein and the Havana Lyceum Orchestra culminate a 3-day residency at the National Orchestral Institute + Festival.  These young orchestral stars from Cuba perform music from their US tour before joining with NOI musicians for the second half of the concert.
