Dance Theater at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center
Launching in the 2022-23 season, this new initiative is in line with our commitment to create meaningful education experiences for all. In our first intensive, we welcomed 52 dancers at a variety of workshops. Our series of workshops and conversations concluded with an informal showing of work choreographed by 2023 artist Mark Caserta featuring 2022-23 mentorship program participants. During our first intensive, we were joined by students in the UMD School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies; the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; the City Dance Conservatory; and members of the DMV dance community.
